We’re pleased to bits here at Shoreline of Infinity, as three of our contributors are nominated for the longlist for the prestigious British Science Fiction Association Awards.
Tips of the hat go to:
Monica Burns for her excellent ongoing series, SF Caledonia. In each issue she has researched and written about an early Scottish Science Fiction writer, and picked out a juicy sample for us to read. And multi-talented Monica has also illustrated the story too.
There’s no end to her talents, and we are honoured to benefit from her skills in her role as Assistant Editor at Shoreline.
Stephen Pickering for his cover artwork, The Rescue of Sister, for Shoreline of Infinity 8. Stephen joined us in Issue 1 with his immaculately detailed illustration for our short story competition.
We were so impressed with that and subsequent black and white illustrations in the magazine we invited him to produce the covers for Issues 6, 7, 8 and 9, each featuring his character, Reader.
Adam Roberts for his atmospheric and enthralling tale, The Edinburgh Masks. This was published in Shoreline of Infinity Edinburgh Book Festival Special Edition (or Shoreline 8½ to its friends).
Adam was one of a number of writers invited by Ken MacLeod to talk at the book festival in the summer, and who contributed to this special edition published for the Edinburgh Festival.
We’re proud of all three of you, and wish you well onto the next stage of voting.
