Event Horizons in 2017: Science Fiction – it’s alive!

Empire GamesHere are some dates for your diary:

1st February 2017 – Event Horizon travels to Kilmarnock. Shoreline of Infinity heads west to pitch camp at the wonderful Paris Match

6th February 2017 – Shoreline of Infinity will be hosting a book launch of Empire Games by Charles Stross. Empire Games continues the brilliant parallel worlds Family Trade series. You can read a review in Shoreline of Infinity 6.

Charles will be reading from his new book, and also from the new space opera series he is writing at the moment. Charlie will also be in conversation with Andrew J Wilson, and no doubt there will be time for questions. This will be followed by the signing, and perhaps a drink or two at the bar.

As this is likely to be a popular event this will be ticketed – probably at around the price of a coffee. Details to follow after Christmas. Join the mailing list if you want to be kept informed.

The Charles Stross Event Horizon will be in Edinburgh, but not at the Blind Poet. The Blind Poet is closing in the New Year, and being amalgamated with the Pear Tree, so Event Horizon is  looking for a new home. We’ve got somewhere lined up for the 6th Feb, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled for future events.

The March Event Horizon will be on or around International Women’s Day, on the 8th March, and we thought we’d celebrate women in science fiction. Plans are underway, but suggestions and ideas are welcome as always – drop us a line via the Contact Form.

After that, Event Horizons will continue its regular monthly journey, bringing live science fiction to Edinburgh – and beyond.

If you want an Event Horizon where you are, let us know and we’ll see what we can arrange.

Have a great New Year in 2017.
