We did it again! For the second time Shoreline of Infinity was awarded Best Magazine/Periodical for 2024 by the British Fantasy Society.
The award was presented at the recent Fantasycon in Chester, England.
The award was based on our productions of 2023, namely Shoreline of Infinity 34, 35 and 36.
Ann Landmann was in Chester to accept the award on behalf of the editorial team.
And what a team. The editorial team is: Eris Young (Fiction Editor), Pippa Goldschmidt (Non-fiction Editor), Ann Landmann (Reviews Editor). We were joined by Lyndsey Croal who was guest editor for our Climate Special Issue, Shoreline of Infinity 36. I stepped back into my editorial role for Shoreline of Infinity 35, to launch SF Caledonia, our showcase of Scottish SF writers, but also hung around as Editor-in-Chief, nodding sagely as required. Mark Toner, retired co-founder of Shoreline of Infinity, also popped up with words of encouragement, and the occasional artwork.
Thanks of course to those who help along the way, including our team of readers who help find the gems in our submissions collection, and our copy editors who polish those gems to make them gleam in the sunlight. The artists, the proof-readers and the layout team (me and the sharp-eyed Andrew Lyndsay) who carve each letter by hand into the cold metal of the presses to send to the printer (at least that’s what we tell the rest of the editors).
Our writers are our stars. They send us their wonderful stories and our task is to get them out there and told. Thank you for your inspiring and well crafted words.
And of course, big thanks go to our ever supportive readers in the UK and beyond who make the whole thing worth sweating over our emails.
Discounts!
Which leads me to exclaim: we’re offering 10% off everything on our website in the Shoreline shop. This will run until 31st October.

The winners
Here’s Ann Landmann at her smiliest in the centre of all the Award winners at Fantasycon.
Note: Teika Marija Smits is at the far right in the orange dress. Readers will know her as our Guest Editor for Shoreline of Infinity 32, a number of stories and also our interviewer of small SF presses.
Tim Major, who has also written for Shoreline of Infinity, is also represented. He’s in the middle of the back three.
Moral of the story? Stick with Shoreline of Infinity and you’ll go far…
