The Garden at the Edge of the Universe by Uzma
Tranquillity Tales by James Cleary

We set a tough challenge this year: Peace.

We were pleasantly surprised to see so many writers looking to a peaceful future, rather than a dystopian enforced calm. Eternal Peace is a neat use of a time-machine and a coffee shop to do the necessary; Peace is the Absence of Error is the warning of the dystopian pseudo peace we could be heading towards. Tall Tales takes us back to where we came from – a long way back, but it sounds good to me.

Gardens cropped up a lot, and these two highly commended stories were the pick of those. Tranquility Tales is the long-sought answer to the problem we all suffer in our manically busy world swirling all around us: Gie us peace!”

Congratulations to Jadie Bea, Franki Halliwell and Scott Payne, whose stories are published on our website (links above) and will be published in Shoreline of Infinity 40.

And well done to everyone who entered – you’re all heroes and peacemakers.
